F.I.R.E., Financial Independence, Retire Early, is a movement designed to help people take control of their spending habits and teach them to use money as a tool that will help them fund their future living expenses at an early age, allowing them to retire early.
Financial independence ultimately means that you can live life without the constant pressure of needing more money. This ultimately allows you to pursue that which brings you joy, and not necessarily what brings a paycheck.
FIkids utilizes a simple lifestyle change and social platforms to teach kids at a young age how money works and how to use it responsibly.
By rerouting money to the child where they now have ownership of purchases, and the consequences of those purchases, it teaches them at a young age what is and what is not a wise money move. Instead of the parent buying things for the child, it empowers the child to make wise financial decisions at a very young age.
The Kids complete a chore chart, the pay is based on the value and quantity of the chores completed, a sum of $100 is recommended. The kids present their chore charts as an invoice to the parents and are paid based off what is completed.
The child receives the cash, all in ones, of which 10% goes to God/Charity, 40% goes to cover their current spending, and 50% goes to their future. Parent are encouraged to match the retirement contribution.
Many people take no care of their money till they come nearly to the end of it, and others do just the same with their time.
